Procurement Specialist
Build vendor relationships to secure the best prices on products and services needed by Pointwest.
Responsibilities
Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable vendors of goods and services based on quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and explore new partnerships to enhance the supplier network.
Negotiation:
- Participate in contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and negotiate contracts that meet their needs.
Procurement Process:
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes with overall business objectives.
Documentation:
- Prepare PR/PO, comparative analysis of suppliers, prior purchases and maintain accurate and organized procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and analyze procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Work closely with finance teams to track and report on budget adherence.
Market Research:
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and technology advancements in the IT industry.
- Conduct regular market research to identify potential suppliers and emerging technologies.
Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of IT products and services procurement.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willing to work on-site (5x a week)
- Knowledgeable in using MS Office
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proactive and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.
