As a Medical Biller at Pointwest, you will ensure the timely and accurate processing of patient claims and billing inquiries. Working with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients, you will manage billing operations and contribute to efficient revenue cycle management while upholding our core values of Leadership, Excellence, and Innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and maintain patient medical records in the billing platform.
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
Verify patient information, procedure codes, and diagnosis codes for accuracy.
Review medical documentation for completeness and compliance with payer requirements.
Resolve claim discrepancies and correct coding errors.
Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plans.
Post payments from insurance and patients to the appropriate accounts.
Follow up on unpaid claims to reduce aging accounts receivable.
Assist in training and mentoring new staff members.

Qualifications:
Nursing graduate or similar healthcare-related background.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with medical billing software (certification is a plus).
